Thrift Store Celebrates 1 Year Anniversary
May 5th, 2009Recently (April 12) the Vita Nova Thrift Store reached it’s 1st Year Anniversary. What better way to show our appreciation to all of our customers than to have a big 50% off SALE, along with FREE food, face painting, “I Love Lucy” lookalike, and FREE drawing for (5) $20 gift certificates. Thank you from all of the residents and staff of Vita Nova for making our 1st year such a success. Together, we are “making a difference, one youth at a time”.

Mentor Night at WPBF Ch 25
March 4th, 2009Recently WPBF Channel 25 hosted “Mentor Night”, sponsored by The Mentor Center of Children Services Council of PB County. Local area mentors were invited along with their mentees for a night of pizza and fun. Several on-air personalities were there to greet all of the guests and to answer questions. After enjoying pizza and cookies together, all were given a behind-the-scenes private tour of the Channel 25 studios. Channel 25 spotlights 2 Vita Nova Mentors
March 4th, 2009January is National Mentor Month, and this year, WPBF Channel 25 featured two of Vita Nova’s residents and their mentors. Each Monday in January, Channel 25 featured a story of a local mentor/mentee match that is proving to be beneficial, not only to the mentee, but to the adult mentor as well. Vita nova resident, Kateal C. (known to us as KC) along with his mentor Alan Frier were featured during the 5:30 pm newscast on January 5, followed by Vita Nova resident Tanya N. and her mentor Marie Clerger, featured on January 19.

Volunteer Appreciation Day
November 21st, 2008Vita Nova VOLUNTEERS were recently recognized at the 1st Annual Volunter Appreciation Brunch, held at Brogue’s Irish Reatuarant in Lake Worth, FL. With nearly 70 people in attendance, there were lots of heartwarming stories shared, as well as lots of prizes awarded during a game of “Who Wants To Be A Volunteer? Jarden Community Fund Continues its Support of Vita Nova
September 25th, 2008On Wednesday, Sept. 3, Vita Nova of Renaissance Village received $10,000 from Jarden Consumer Solutions and its Community Fund. In addition, five of Jarden employees arrived with Jarden brand products (Crock Pot, Mr. Coffee coffee maker, etc. ) to donate to the Thrift Store.
The Jarden Consumer Solutions Community Fund is the company’s employee-funded charitable giving entity. As a 501(c)(3) organization, the Jarden Consumer Solutions Community Fund provides monetary grants to qualified charitable organizations that engage in community development initiatives (focusing on at-risk women, families and youth, low-income families and food programs) that serve the communities where JCS employees live and work.
